Burešová, Veronika ; Vágner, Jiří (advisor) ; Nosková, Alena (referee)
Current geographical research on second homes deals with the complex of phenomena, processes and activities associated with objects of individual recreation. Modern society is characterized by changes leading to an increase in holidays and an increase in the proportion of free time, which is highly emphasized. One of its components is the already mentioned recreation. People spend their free time in different ways. One of them is the performance of activities second homes. Literature and many other sources deal with the study of cottages and weekend houses. Today there are also studies on new trends in the form of buying and owning apartment houses, tents or caravans. This diploma thesis discusses theoretical approaches to the research of another phenomenon, which is houseboats used as objects of second homes. Through Czech and foreign professional articles and other relevant materials, approaches to defining the term houseboat were discussed, the phenomenon of houseboats in Czech and foreign conditions was explained in the context of historical development and the system of recreation, tourism and the use of free time, as well as the evaluation of houseboats as objects used for second homes and to the residence function. The established results of the work based on data obtained through field...
Vltava Philharmonic
Mikel, Jakub ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The Philharmonic is a building that, in terms of its operational as well as conceptual nature, forms a very complex object that allows the architect to try out a whole range of situations. Also, its visual essence cannot be neglected, because the philharmonic, especially when it is the one in the capital, becomes one of the architectural symbols of the country. In my work, I deal with this task in the background of the competition that took place, and thus of the real tender conditions. An important focus of the work is the connection between the Philharmonic and the public, both through a large number of public areas directly in the building, and also through the creation of residential areas in its surroundings. This is also associated to the connection of the public space and the river, where the public space around the building is directly connected to the riverbank.
Scope and impact of floods in the river basin Polečnice
MAXA, Václav
The preparation of the bachelor thesis includes the collection of information on the issue, especially the theoretical part focuses on the study of legislation and the use of Internet resources. The aim of the author in the theoretical part is to explain important concepts in the field of flood and related topics. The individual chapters focus, for example, on the flow of the Polečnice river, types of floods in our country, levels of flood activity, legislation in the field of floods, as well as preparations for floods and warning the population. The practical part contains a description of the Český Krumlov district and the floodplain of the Polečnice river, then the two biggest modern floods in our country are described, namely the devastating floods of 2002 and 2013. Furthermore, the modification of the riverbed of the Polečnice river, which served to create the necessary flood protection measures on the Polečnice river. And last but not least, a questionnaire survey. In the questionnaire survey 100 sheets with 12 questions were evaluated. The questions focused on the general overview of the citizens of Český Krumlov about the flood issue and their awareness of situations caused by floods, such as protection of health, lives and property, related warnings to the population and their evacuation. And whether they are aware of the threat of danger from the Polečnice river, which at first glance may not seem dangerous at all. The evaluated data indicate that the inhabitants of Český Krumlov rather underestimate the risk of floods in the town of Český Krumlov. Some inhabitants do not even know that partial flood protection measures have been carried out on the Polečnice in the recent past. The only positive thing I see is that nowadays, thanks to the technology we have, citizens have the opportunity to get information about the situation quickly and thus be better and more quickly prepared for a possible emergency.

Distribution and ecology of the turbellarian Dugesia tigrina in the Vltava river and selected Prague brooks and its interactions with native turbellarian species
Sevruková, Natálie ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
Key words: (Dugesia tigrina), ecology, bioindication, predation, Vltava, Prague The main goal of my thesis was the research of occurrence and ecology of planarians of the group Ttricladida in the Vltava River and some brooks flowing through the territory of Prague. The emphasis was given on the non-native North American species - Dugesia tigrina. The research can be divided into field surveys of population size and ecological requirements of planarians and a laboratory experiment, in which I have investigated the predation behavior of planarians. During my fieldwork, which took place from August 22th to November 11th 2009, I have found out that the Dugesia tigrina occurs only in the Vltava river, in six of the nine studied localities. During the research it was not found in the studied brooks. It chooses localities with a natural shoreline, deeper ground, rapid water and it lives in company of mainly Dugesia polychroa. It appeared at moderately polluted places. During the predation experiment, which ran from December 17th 2009 to October 20th 2010 at a temperature of 14 řC and triple repetitions in all mutual combinations of five planarian species, intraspecific cannibalism and frequent asexual reproduction of Dugesia tigrina was comfirmed. The experiment showed mainly preying of indigenous...

Hodnocení efektivity reintrodukce lipana podhorního (Thymallus thymallus L.) do vybraných lokalit jihočeských toků
KOLAŘÍK, Tomáš
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the stocking efficiency and fishing records of European grayling in selected angling districts of South Bohemian Rivers based on the angling union data. Furthermore, additional aim is to evaluate the recent results of restoration/ enhancement of European grayling populations by stocking effort in sections of the Blanice Vodňanská River under the Husinec Reservoir and the Vltava River under the Lipno Reservoir. The European grayling was in the past abundant in both sections under study and natural reproduction was also recorded. However, this species almost disappeared in the recent years and its presence in these sites is rare these days.
Functional changes of Vltava riverbanks in Prague
Brabec, Jiří ; Fialová, Dana (advisor) ; Šantrůčková, Markéta (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the functional changes of the banks of the Vltava river in the territory of today's Capital City of Prague. There have been significant changes in the functional use of this area due to large interventions in the bank line and the redevelopment of the embankment. During last 150 years changes are closely monitored. Changes were also made conditional on connecting nearby rural communities to Prague. Theoretical bases are the concepts of shore-side changes in urbanized areas, complemented by examples from the world that serve as a comparative study. Furthermore, the thesis is based on the theory of photography and the iconographic approach, which are essential for this work. The methodology of the thesis is based on the analysis of historical and contemporary photographs and information, on field research and vectorization of historical maps, where the course of the flow is monitored in four time periods (the mid-19th century until present). The work captures functional changes of banks in text form, as images and fundamental changes in tables. Part of the work is also a web application, where the changes in cartographic, picture and text form are again accessible to the public. Key words Vltava river, Prague, riverbank, waterfront
